SNP Security has security covered at Canberra Airport

20 Jan 2011

SNP Security’s Aviation division has had a major win! We’ve been appointed to provide security solutions for the new Canberra Airport terminal. The win bolsters SNP’s reputation as Australia’s leading developer of advanced technology airport security and pre-eminent provider of passenger screening services, with four decades of experience at Sydney Airport.

Canberra Airport is undergoing a $330 million upgrade, incorporating a new terminal, retail area and expanded car park.
The contract for Canberra Airport includes the supply and installation of the sophisticated Cardax Access Control system. Also being installed is the state-of-the-art Avigilon CCTV system for which SNP won the ‘Avigilon Value and Performance Leader Award’ in Las Vegas earlier this year.

SNP has also been awarded the contract to supply passenger screening services to the airport, a win that was underpinned by the reputation of SNP’s Canberra team led by Peter Georgiou. As a result, SNP is now the leading protective services provider in the ACT.

SNP’s Managing Director, Tom Roche, says the contract win for the airport of the country’s national capital is a strong acknowledgement of the company’s expertise in high technology security systems and its reputation in passenger screening services.

“The contract is prestigious and was strongly contested by some of the biggest names in the security business,” says Tom. “Against this backdrop, the win is particularly gratifying for the SNP Security team. We are very innovative in security design and importantly, our systems provide value-for-money.
“The Cardax Access Control and Avigilon CCTV system is the first major installation of this kind for SNP at an airport in Australia. The new contract for Canberra airport heightens our reputation for integrating the complete range of high performance security solutions.”
