SNP Security awarded for showcasing innovation

SNP Security has been selected as the winners of the NSW Business Chamber’s Roger Pysden Business Innovation Award for excellence in the category of Innovation, at a ceremony held at Sydney Town Hall on Friday last week.

The NSW Business Chamber says the accolade was awarded to SNP Security for their substantial monetary and organisational investment in moving the security industry away from a more traditional mode, to one characterised as ‘security with service’.

"The pay-off for SNP is a new competitive edge which helps them to be differentiated in the market, improve employee loyalty and increase pride in a blue collar award wage sector.

“SNP Security has distinguished itself as an innovator by taking an intelligent assessment of customer needs, of staff capacity and of corporate responsibility and creating a new recipe for business success in the security industry,” says NSW Business Chamber.

Tom Roche, Managing Director of SNP Security, says the company invested over half a million dollars in staff development last financial year.

"SNP Security's motto is one team, one company, one SNP.  We try to instil pride in our workforce by encouraging, supporting and placing employees into nationally accredited training, which provides them advancement opportunities and transportable qualifications,” says Roche.

In conjunction with TAFE, SNP Security is in the process of assembling two nationally recognised five-year courses, the Certificate IV in Front line Management Programs and the Certificate IV in Customer Contact.  By encouraging staff to take up the courses which the company are themselves pioneering, SNP Security is enabling their own staff members to perform at their very best while they earn transportable and nationally accredited qualifications.

Roche says the uptake from staff has been overwhelmingly positive.

“SNP’s innovation is centred on upgrading the skills and professional capabilities of its people, who represent a diverse workforce across many rural and urban regions, including 57 nationalities and 3 generations, many of whom have had limited formal education,” says Roche.
SNP Security is also dedicated to product innovation, with the recent installation of a range of high tech CCTV systems in several key locations across Australia.

"As one of Australia’s leading security firms, it’s important for us to continually push the boundaries of what is possible for our clients. The solutions we've designed and installed are at the forefront of a new era in digital security solutions, and are already having a noticeable impact on crime in those areas.”

Roche says SNP Security's reliance on the latest technology is only matched by the importance of maintaining high standards of involvement, professionalism and integrity within the organisation.

“Our people are integral to the success of our business.  Because we pride ourselves on providing security services with professionalism and integrity to the community, investing in each of our staff makes great sense for business," says Roche.

SNP Security has a strong history of promoting our people into leadership positions, creating long term career paths and specialists in highly technical subject matters.

“We want to be seen as a leader in the industry. We want to be seen to be doing the best for our people, using the best technology available and having an integration of both of these to drive the best outcomes for our customers,” Mr Roche said.
