Winner - Hunter Business Awards 2010 for 'Business Achievement'

10 Aug 2010

SNP Security has been recognised for its success as a major business in the Hunter region. The company is the winner of the Business Achievement category at the Hunter Business Awards.

Managing Director of SNP Security, Tom Roche, says the company has built further on its recent growth with even greater investment in local security infrastructure in the Hunter, due to increased demand for SNP’s services.

“SNP is a significant local employer, with approximately 300 staff employed directly in the Hunter region. Our core security guard business has expanded over recent years with SNP staff employed across many diverse industries throughout the region,” says Mr Roche.

“SNP engages approximately 200 staff as subcontractors within the region, bringing the number of Hunter locals employed to more than 500.”

Mr Roche says companies doing business in a regional centre face several challenges and one of the biggest is the availability of staff. “Many of our clients in the Hunter operate in high-risk environments, so their needs are specialised. This accounts for the huge investment SNP makes in training; we leverage national insights, experience and buying power, combining it with local know-how and delivery”

Chief Executive of the Hunter Business Chamber, Peter Shinnick, says the judges highlighted SNP’s willingness to identify and respond to changing client needs as its outstanding achievement. .

“This was demonstrated both in specific client relations and in general service to all clients. The company has doubled its turnover in the Hunter since 2005 and this now exceeds more than $30 million a year,” he says.

Established in 1923, SNP Security has won many awards for its service delivery and employee training programs.
