SNP Security has been providing security services at Kingsford Smith Airport 1970, and has held the security contract at Sydney Airport and for Qantas’ additional passenger screening requirements for 35 years.

This is a major security undertaking with approximately 340 security officers rostered at any one time over all three terminals.

SNP Security is responsible for Passenger and Cargo Screening & X-ray at the Qantas Domestic Terminal, manning Qantas Domestic Terminal Control Room and Aircraft Guarding.

In 2008, Qantas presented SNP Security with an award recognising not only 35 years of passenger screening, but the 30 year anniversary of the first passenger screening X-rays in Australia at Sydney Airport on 18 August 1978.

Geoff Askew, Qantas' Group General Manager - Group Security, said the award was an acknowledgement of SNP's professionalism and commitment, not only to Qantas' needs but to those of the travelling public generally.
