Security system for Gold Coast Park

Safe haven points have been installed by SNP Security in a newly-completed recreation development on the Gold Coast. Gold Coast City Council authorised the redevelopment of a 900 car park facility and surrounding area into a state-of-the-art recreational site which included the creation of an additional 300 meters of new dune and beach area.

Due to increasing concerns over the number of tourists that frequent the Gold Coast and the security issues created for local residents, Gold Coast City Council committed to the provision of a world class security system installed in the new site.

SNP Security was given the contract by the KLM Group which was contracted to complete the redevelopment that included bikeways, 2.8 hectares of open space, a pier, picnic shelters, an urban wetland and the pier pavilion.

This project was the first of this size in Queensland for the company.  SNP Security drew upon its experience with other councils around the country, to develop a system for the Gold Coast community with its large flux of visitors and residents.  The security solution needed to provide the local police and emergency services with the most dynamic and reliable system available in order to respond to ‘situations’ efficiently.

The project included installation of five PTZ cameras (an advanced all optical camera), seven fixed CCTV cameras, intercoms, PA systems, duress help point system and seven access control door alarms for the pavilion building, all connected via fibre optic cable back to the Cold Coast City Council’s main monitoring room.  It was essential that the security solution offered the highest degree of reliability and integrity. The PTZ camera’s allow monitoring staff the ability to immediately pan and focus on any given point within the image, all in real-time.
