SNP Security operations cover the main campus of Sydney University – comprising 70 hectares with over 200 buildings. SNP’s services include patrols and alarm response, incident and emergency response. The campus is protected by 34 Security Officers, who are supervised by 4 team leaders.

With up to 55,000 people on the site at any time, SNP Security Officers are trained to handle any incident that could happen in a town of the same size – from parking violations to building evacuations, theft to physical assault. The sheer number of people, combined with an inner-city location, means SNP Security Officers must be very proactive service to deter and respond to any criminal activity, regularly patrolling the site and responding quickly to emergencies.

To achieve this, SNP Security officers use Mountain Bikes to get around, equipped with microphones and flashing lights, a complete equipment kit and record keeping materials. Far quicker for incident response than foot and car, Security Officers can respond to the location within 2-3 minutes – estimated to be 70% quicker than the time taken with car.
