Education – Schools
Acknowledging the risks
The obvious risks are criminal ones: arson, malicious damage, break in and enter resulting in theft or damage. Then there are issues or risks which may affect the school community in a psychological or physical, way such as unauthorised intruders to the school grounds while students or staff are there; assault, use and/or distribution of narcotic and addictive substances; bullying and enticing students from school grounds by non-authorised persons. Another category of risk surrounds the ‘brand’ or reputation of the school. This can be adversely impacted by the number and range of security incidents, which occur at a school and the reporting and perception on how these incidents were handled.
Creating the solution
SNP Security is able to assist you greatly in this area. We can undertake a security risk assessment for you; work with you to rate and prioritise your risk sources; and develop a security plan to mitigate these. We can provide smart technology solutions that are not only more efficient than costly labour intensive approaches of the past, but which also provide audit trails and aid investigation. We can cover the entire school campus with CCTV, install intruder alarms in buildings, surround high-value assets with additional layers of protection and provide effective fences and gates that act as a deterrent, a defence and a delaying strategy, enabling an appropriate response. We can provide a total security presence, with officers who undertake a broad range of specialised activities relevant to school campuses. These activities can vary from permanent or random patrolling, response to alarms, collection of cash and crowd control at special events. Additionally many schools utilise a permanent guard presence. We will work with you to develop appropriate policies, procedures and protocols in conjunction with local police and community organisations to deliver an all-encompassing plan. The solution will be yours – our role is to help you arrive to the right solution for your school and then to keep your school grounds in a secure state. Contact us
