Security Officers save the day - and the building!

Alert security guards from SNP Security have been publicly awarded and accredited with saving a public building in Queanbeyan from destruction by an arson attack.

SNP Security ACT Branch Manager Peter Georgiou said two SNP patrolmen found a number of deliberately lit spot fires in the area, distinguished them, and notified emergency services.

Two youths have been charged over the attack which threatened to burn down the Queanbeyan Record Building (previously known as the Queanbeyan Fire Station).

The mayor of Queanbeyan Councillor Tim Overall presented the two patrolmen Jason O’Meara and Allan Dahlstrom with an award at a ceremony in Queanbeyan, on Friday 5th February.

The same night as the Record Building was set alight, several other suspicious fires were also started in and around the Queanbeyan CBD.

SNP Security is Australia’s largest privately owned security company, with clients including Department of the Prime Minster & Cabinet, Federal Attorney Generals Department and Medicare.
